HIV Test Kits

A HIV Test Kit can come in either the blood or the oral version. With a blood version, the kit actually utilizes the blood sample to test for the HIV antibodies that are present in the blood. The method to extract a sample of the blood would be to use a lancet to prick the finger tip. Thereafter, a micro pipette would be used to collect the blood sample from the finger tip for use in the test cassette. Although this method is invasive, it is the most commonly used for rapid test kits in clinics and hospitals. Recently, the demand for a non-invasive method has fuelled the production of an oral version of the kit. It utilizes the oral sample by using a swab to glean off the oral fluid samples for further confirmatory testing. Both tests can be done from the privacy of your home.
